Nonin is demonstrating its investigational iPhone regional oximetry (rSO2) device at the MEDICA conference in Dusseldorf. It’s not available for purchase, nor is there a schedule to commercialize it yet, but the device slips over a fourth generation iPhone and when pressed against tissue, will display and record readings on the partner app. Additionally, the company is also demoing the world’s smallest regional oximeter that can interface with any monitor or mobile device supporting Bluetooth Smart technology. iPads being one of those, at MEDICA Nonin is showing off how the new oximeter works with them.
